Like all fal'Cie, Galenth Dysley views humans as tools to achieve his ends and uses propagandistic charisma to cover it. He is also a ruthless nihilist in personality, as he told the FFXIII Cast his intent to kill everyone dear to them and later carried the deed out by shattering projections of the crystallized Serah and Dajh in front of their eyes. Ultimately, Dysley's goal was his own destruction, which he achieved by becoming a part of Orphan.

During the Dissidian Wars, he allied himself with fellow Chaos nihilists Kefka and Exdeath, while attempting to manipulate the Cosmos Warriors Lightning and Vanille to achieve his goal of surpassing Chaos and destroying the cycle of the Wars, seeking an end to everything.


Galenth's main attire is based upon his original game attire from Final Fantasy XIII. In EX Mode, Galenth gains aspects of his true form Barthandelus, having his face covered by Barthandelus' mask and ornaments, his demon claws added to hands and feet, and wing-like pauldrons to his shoulders.

His first alternative outfit 'Dark Priest' colours Galenth's Robes in blacks and whites (Reflecting traditional colours of a priest) and in EX Mode his Barthandelus Features are taken from the second Barthandelus fight.

His second alternative oufit 'Menrva's Protection' Galenth wears wing-like armour and a headpiece resembling his familiar Menrva's wings and face respectively. In EX Mode his Barthandelus Features are taken from the third Barthandelus fight.

His DLC outfit, 'Super-Pope' Galenth wears a costume resembling a papal figure - a crimson/purple frock and skullcap. In EX Mode his Features resemble Orphan instead.

As a Destructive Glider Galenth uses similar tactics to Kuja in that he is able to glide and also teleport while attacking. However, his attacks are geared towards weakening his opponent and then brutally attacking them. His attacks are more effective the further away they are, in this respect he acts as a powerful guard-breaker from a distance. He is also able to project a weak projective shield, but fails in that he is slow even when gliding, thus making it harder to avoid attacks.

Compass Staff Ground/ Aerial Four hit close range combo that attacks from four directions and knocks opponent upwards. Can initiate a chase.
Curse Ground/ Aerial Fires a large wave of energy at opponent. Traps the opponent on contact making them temporarily unable to move.
Hexa Orbs Ground/ Aerial Galenth charges six orbs before firing them at his opponent. If fully charged, the orbs are practically unblockable (but still avoidable)
Teleportal Ground/ Aerial Sends out a pillar of light, that can damage opponent as it moves, Galenth teleports to it once you release O.
Shield Cocoon Ground/ Aerial Creates a dome of light briefly around Galenth, can reflect projectile attacks and if an opponent comes into contact, although no damage is done, they are sent flying.

HP Attacks

Crystal Crush Ground/ Aerial Galenth's only close-range HP attack. Create an explosion in front of Galenth, before having a following implosion that can pull opponent closer. Charge for larger explosion/implosion
Baptism to Ruin Ground/ Aerial Fires a barrage of orbs from above that fall downwards on the opponent and can richochet once off obstacles
Sweep Sphere Ground/ Aerial Throws a large orb in an arc that explodes on contact. Can be charged to home in and become unblockable.

Thantosian Laughter Special Releases a wide stream of homing light arrows that cannot be blocked. If all arrows hit the opponent they are stunned and pulled towards Galenth.
Destrudo Wave Cannon EX Burst Barthandeus/Galenth charges each of his head adornments and makes them fire a blast of energy each. The player has to press the four action buttons in a cycle five times in a short amount of time to charge each adornment. If successful Barthandeus and the adornments' blasts all fuse to release a massive stream of energy. If failed only fires a smaller stream.


Galenth can equip Rods, Staves, Poles, Hammers, Grappling Weapons, Bangles, Hats, Hairpins, Clothing and Robes.
